  1. Hi there, real quick question that hopefully any pro Editor can answer!

I edit a lot of montages and video packages, and I wanted to know what you would call the loud crashing noises used in trailers are?

3 examples are all on the hits at 2:33, 2:37, 2:40.

Can anybody either point me to where these are or at the very least, what they’re called so I can go hunt for them myself? I’ve no problem putting in the leg work and finding them but I don’t even know what to call them and “sound effect” just gives me ducks quacking and door bells etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. As a pro editor, I would call them annoying, overused and trite. However, you might have better luck looking for "whoosh."

  3. smrpix, thank you so much.

Just for you, I'll try and keep them to a minimum. Honestly, thanks a lot brother.

  4. They also fall under the broad category of "impacts" at some sites if you're shopping for audio clips/effects . (Of course you're going to have to narrow it down, since there are so many different types of "impacts" )

    They are the "Taiko" drums.

You could use the 8Dio Hybrid Tools for that.
I like to use it in Kontakt.

Yeah, those are thuds. There are also crashes, explosions, impacts, squishes, etc.
