  1. I am trying to play an avi file, Divx I think, but it says that I don't have a vids:div 3 decompressor.

    I dont know much about the video side of things the cd rom that my mate gave me was a movie that he downloaded , and it plays fine on his Media player and Real player

    I have tried the Microsoft knowledge base, but without any luck. I Have IE 6 and Media player 7, and tried real player. I have also checked that I have Video decompressing installed within windows multimedia, and that my secuirity settings are set to medium so that Media player can download the codec. These where all Microsoft suggestions

    Athlon 1200
    Gygabyte 7XDR mobo
    256 DDr mem
    64 meg kyro 11 vid card
    Win 98 se

  2. I suggest you download Kristal Studio pack (VCDhelp - Tools) and also the DivX 5, and install them (first Kristal Studio and then DivX 5), and I believe you will be able to play back the file.
