I am trying to play an avi file, Divx I think, but it says that I don't have a vids:div 3 decompressor.
I dont know much about the video side of things the cd rom that my mate gave me was a movie that he downloaded , and it plays fine on his Media player and Real player
I have tried the Microsoft knowledge base, but without any luck. I Have IE 6 and Media player 7, and tried real player. I have also checked that I have Video decompressing installed within windows multimedia, and that my secuirity settings are set to medium so that Media player can download the codec. These where all Microsoft suggestions

I suggest you download Kristal Studio pack (VCDhelp - Tools) and also the DivX 5, and install them (first Kristal Studio and then DivX 5), and I believe you will be able to play back the file.
