  1. Is there a tool that can convert MTS and MKV files to MP4?

I tried the Software section and couldn't find it there (could be me).

I also tried Google and there are a couple of tools but I thought I'd ask here first.

    i have the same question.

Want to upload a 11.7GB MKV video file, 2 hours of HD, to Youtube.
How to make it much smaller with the same level of clarity? I see beautiful HD videos on Youtube, - how do they do it?

can I use Mkv2mp4 to make the file about 800mb with excellent quality? Uploading 11.7gb will take several days, need smaller.

    thanks

MkvToMp4 can change the mkv to Mp4 without reconverting/transcoding video(If the original video in H264 format). Support for multiple internal and external audio tracks. Support subtitle formats: srt, ass, ssa, ttxt. Changing colors for subtitles. Add and edit tags for Mp4 files (m4v, m4a, m4b). Artworks and chapters for Mp4 files. Encode video for non-h264. Correction of the atoms in Mp4 files to be able to change the audio and subtitle on Apple devices. English and Russian interface.

Did you try it? I think you can import mts also. Maybe you have to rename them to .m2ts or .ts.

Or else use vidcoder and you can shrink(reconvert) your files also.

Yeah, VidCoder seems like the better choice; seems like it can convert any video file:

VidCoder is a very easy to use DVD, Blu-ray and any video file to MP4/MKV video converter. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Easily batch convert your video/DVDs/ISO/VIDEO_TS and Blu-ray to MP4 or MKV. Requires. NET 4 Client.

However, I have not seen MTS. I also checked their website. Would you happen to know if it can convert MTS to MP4?

I did not try it. I just looked at the description. I try not to install too much software on my computer so I just wanted to know which one worked before installing something.
