I am assuming there is a way to amend this, software update checked and all current. The HD Writer 5.00 won't read any camera files dated from 1st January 2015. Tried all usual options, Files, Tools etc but nothing obvious or close to it.

Does anyone know how to resolve this please?

    Thanks,

    John

Looks to me you are dealing with crapware.

Do you actually need this crap?
    What does it do?

Do you really need to use this program ?

Can you not simply transfer from the camera with explorer/drag 'n drop ?

    Thanks for feedback guys.

The HD writer provided with HD Pansonic is a basic writer but for really quick video grabs takes only a fraction of the time of Studio 18, my editing suite.

In that sense it does have a useful purpose. Against that you are always creating two files, two sets of memory space and in an HD environment even a TB drive or two can soon start to fill. One of those teasers where you feel there must be a work around, short of resetting the camera date of course and starting 2014 all over again.

You could probably hexedit the app to fix it (doing a search for "14" or "2014") but that might take a while and might still end up breaking the app.
If it's from Panasonic, and as part of your purchase, you should be able to complain to them and get an update.
