Strange problem, running windows 8.1 with three monitors one Dell 24'' and two Dell 20'' on the sides (left DVI, right VGA).

When I open a video in the center monitor blacklevels are good, then when I move it to the left monitor it is still good until the video is in the left monitor about 80%, then it suddenly shows a washed out video, e.g. black levels are wrong. Right monitor has no problem.

NVIDIA settings setup to adjust through NVIDIA only for all monitors.

    Can reproduce with VLC, Potplayer.

    Anyone ever encountered this problem?

Oops, the left monitor did not have PC levels.

Still, strange it only changes when a certain percentage of the video is on the monitor.

  2. On my single IPS monitor and talking to you from a black background right now, my far-left side has brighter blacks while center and rightmost side are fine. The left is brighter on both our monitors for some reason I guess.

I believe that's known as edge bleed. One of the latest "benefits" of LED lighting. My RGB16 background has a slight glow in the lower left corner about the size of a healthy grape. Most of the time I have to look for it to see it.

  4. Slightly brighter edge is a lot better than much wider color distortion in my book. I remember too well how bad LCDs used to suck.

LCDs still suck, just not as much. A lot better than they used to be.
