  1. Will PS4 & XBOne play video (MP4 & WMV) out-of-the-box?

    Or does it require online download or something?

    Both require free downloadable apps to do so. Best is the XB1 though as it can use NTFS drives. PS4 is FAT32 only, so file size is 4GB maximum...

    Ps4 is exfat as well.

    exFAT supports files over 4GB

    Been playing with the new PS4 Media Player that just got released last week and it supports MKV but no DTS and no soft subs. It's a start but far from a great solution.

    You would think that sony would make their newest game system be able to play most mkv with soft subs and dts since their older sony blu-ray players from 2011 can do that for under $80 at the time.
