    Is there a video splitter that i can split at different time intervals such as (5m,5m30sec) and save the subsequent files f4om the cuts? John

    Virtualdub, AVIDemux, AVIUtil. AVISynth, ffmpeg - depending upon how complicated you need. Others may be necessary or preferred, depending upon input container format.

    Mkv is the input container
    Preferably easier the better
    A set and forget type of program set it for five minutes and save each.

    As Scott says, there are many free tools, depending upon the task needed.

    Video splitting is always tricky, and usually, best results are not obtained with "easy one click software"

    But :
    as it seems you're loooking for the simplest solution, maybe you should try FreeVideoEditor (ex-FreeVideoDub) which could help you achieve your multiple splits goals.



    If you're not succeeding, you could try a ffmpeg batch file, but that requires some CLI knowledge, so we"ll get back to that later if needed.
