Doing some processing of files with Neat Video and find I'm getting glitches - parts where this multicolored "rainbow" static shows up. I'm going from 720x480 16:9 DV to HuffYuv. Below is an example of one variation of the issue. Other parts of the video are fine, certain frames display this problem. Doesn't happen going from DV to DV.

Wondering if Neat Video is choking on HuffYuv.

Might ask what you are using to convert.

Do these artefacts show up playing the converted video elsewhere ?

There are several variants of huffyuv. Some better than others. Have you tried lagarith ?

Using Neatvideo within VirtualDub, going from DV to HuffYuv.

Yes. Within Virtualdub, Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player.

I did try Lagarith, it doesn't seem to happen using that. However as an update originally I was using the internal Virtualdub Brightness/Contrast filter downstream from Neat Video. When I take the B/C filter out the problem disappears.

  4. Check the output color format of the Brightness/Contrast filter. In Video -> Color Depth force the output to YUY2, RGB, or whatever is correct for your needs (and supported by Huffyuv).
