What software will allow me to convert a DVD file (VIDEO_TS) fromat as a single VOB file.....The TS folder has around 10 vob files, so I can either merge them or just extract as a single one, either way whats the best tool to use.

If you want a large vob file for some unknown reason, you can use VobMerge. If you can use a single mpeg2 file, use Vob2Mpg.

Neither will work with encrypted DVD's, so you'll need to decrypt any commercially made DVD first.

You can try vobmerge. Or vob2mpg as a single mpg.

You may be able to set up your ripper (or PGCDemux) not to split and not to demultiplex, but to extract the streams of the main movie PGC into a continuous PGC VOB file. For whatever reason. If you are interested in archiving, rather store an ISO (or MDS) image of the whole DVD.

DVDFab 8 or older (I don't recommend version 9) will open Video_TS folder and under conversion settings, VOB > VOB Passthrough > Splitting > None. This will give you a single VOB/MPEG of the movie on the DVD.

IMO, this is the only way you would want to rip a DVD. For Episode or Music DVDs > VOB > Vob Passthrough > Splitting > Split By Chapter.

If I'm not mistaken, You can do the same with DVD Decrypter. It won't work on newer DVDs but should work on Video_TS folders that you've already decrypted.

If they are already decrypted completely (including IFOs), PGCDemux will be sufficient.
