I have not done any video editing in a few years and got back into it to make a video of the recent family trip to the US of A. I put together my compilation in premiere pro CS6 and after many hours am very happy and ready to create my file. However the last time I tinkered with video it was all DVD MPEG2, now I dont use optical media and play everything on the TV via media players, so I am after a 'file' rather than a disc. The final video is 2hrs long.

My camcorder records at 1080P 50FPS and the GOPRO I used 720P 50FPS. So my sequence settings was at 1080P 50FPS and I upscaled the GOPRO 720P to 1080P. In the editing part all was working fine.

But I am at the final hurdle which is to get 1080P 50FPS video output with reasonable file size but I am struggling to find any settings in APP CS6 that allows this. All the H.264 settings only allow 25/29 FPS for 1080P. I ticked the 'match sequence settings' tab and it went to an MPEG format which seemed to allow it but when I went to encode it said 'disc full' very quickly which makes me think these settings will create a monster file as there was 50 odd gig free on the drive.

I was searching on here for an answer and I saw something about AVCHD 2.0 doing 1080P 50FPS but I have no option for this codec in APP CS6. Is this something I can add in or is it not meant for APP CS6?

Alternatively I can downscale all my 1080P camcorder footage to 720P and use H.264 but if there is an answer I dont know about I would love to learn it!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Try this:
    Format: H.264
    Preset: HD 1080p 25
On the video tab, change the frame rate to 50.

You can also adjust the bitrate settings so that you can try for a smaller filesize.
If you are satisfied you can save as a preset.

Thanks so much, it was all to simple! I was adjusting the frame rate from different presets and it would say something along the lines of 'cant use that frame rate with that resolution' which lead me to think it was not compatible with that frame rate.

I am doing some short tests with the bitrates to see what quality I will get, Target of 8Mbs with Max 12 will get around 7.5 gig which would be a good size for me so hopefully it looks good.

Thanks again for your help, your reply has really helped me out.
