Ok, I read it somewhere in one of the posts here but can't find it now. About unchecking the DeMacrovision box in Smartripper cause it's really not needed or something. I'm ripping DVDs of both 16:9 and 4:3.
Would the person that replied on that thread elaborate on it again.
Thanks.

The demacrovision removes the copy protections bits in the VOB
that would cause the image to pulse if you tried the copy the
DVD to a VHS tape. If you want to see the effect, just run the output from your dvd player thru any new vcr and you will see. If you have and ATI capture card, the macrovision codes will disable it from capturing.

So, despite what Sefys guide shows, if I'm ripping DVDs to put on VCD, I don't need this box checked. Right?
Thanks. -
Yes thats correct. However if you are doing this to speed your rips it really has no affect. I too saw the same thread hoping it would speed up smartripper.

Yup, if you'll notice the v2.0 guide which will come out soon, i've unmarked Smart Ripper's DeMacrovision (and basicly all other rippers which this was selected) it has no effect if you are planning to encode, only for playing back the VOB's through the TV-Out.
