PVR/Media Centre

Hi there,

I have been asked by a colleague to identify a PVR that can automatically record series (like a sky box) but can also record these to a USB pen/drive, he also wouldnt mind the streaming capabilities of XBMC.

He often goes abroad and prefers to have an offline copy of media, for when he goes abroad he can plug in his usb pen into his tablet and watch them on the plane & at his villa.

any recommendation? I have been out of the AV loop for quite some time now.

Are you asking about a stand-alone hardware PVR, or PVR software that runs on a PC? What source would your colleague be recording? Over-the-air TV or something else?

Apologies I read my post back and realised I could have been a little less vague!!

Standalone freeview box capable of receiving UK freeview and also stream stuff like XBMC does with the ability of recording straight to usb device (mainly recording for freeview)
