For some reason, Sony Vegas Pro 13 is cutting off the audio in my MP4 files, which I recorded with Mirillis Action. The files are more specifically MP4 files with Nvidia NVENC hardware acceleration, and AAC audio format.

Vegas starts building the peaks for the video files, and when it reaches 50% it just stops and the audio is gone during the second half of the video, no matter the length. I've tried recording an AVI video with Action, and the audio works perfectly fine, but due to the size of the files, AVI isn't really a viable choice. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

You could extract the audio from the mp4 and convert to wav with for example Pazera Free Audio Extractor , Goldwave, Audacity (with ffmpeg plugin). Then import the wav in vegas and use as audio source.

Alright, I've added the ffmpeg library to Audacity, and then exported the audio as wav, now it's working perfectly, thanks!
