  1. I am trying to encode a file that is VC-1 VidCoder can see it and all seems ok until I try to play back the new file and it just hangs at position 0 forever.
    What can I do?

Is that a Blu-ray rip? I've don't use VidCoder for them, especially VC-1. Maybe try a different program like RipBot? Or one of our members may have an better idea.

You may need to install MediaInfo and post the details from your MKV here so we can what you really have. It's in interlaced VC-1 then you are in for a world of hurt because almost nothing can handle that correctly through some sort of automated tool.
