  1. hello,

I am creating a DVD with TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.

The final size of my DVD is 9.5 GB and the maximum custom size that
    software allows is 9 GB:
I wonder if it is possible to increase the size or force Tmpgenc to create the DVD anyway.

I have already done the menu which took me a lot of time, so I want to use it and not to redo it for a Blu-ray

Thank you in advance for your help.

  2. The software creates standards-compliant DVDs and Blu Rays. You're over the limit on file size. Either make it a Blu Ray, remove some of your content, or lower the bitrate of your media.

In the very early days of TDA, there was an option to ignore the size and create a DVD anyway.

  4. Hi

For the moment I don't want to make it a bluray because it take me a lot of time to create the dvd
    I can't remove content
The bitrate is the lower allowed

If it is possible to ignore the size with TDA 4, I want to know how

Yeah, but even then TDA had a maximum size, if my memory is good it wouldn't exceed 10 GB. What is certain is you could import from 2 single layer DVD's, but not from a single and a dual.

The workaround is to render a volume with the full menu and shortened clips (so it doesn't exceed the limit), then render another volume with the full clips and no menu. Merge the menu from the first volume with the clips from the second volume using DVDshrink in re-author mode. Don't forget to click the compression tab and set the final disc size to DVD9. You will end up with a compressed DVD that will fit on a dual layer DVD.
