This may sound stupid, but I have been considering getting a new computer with Dual Athlon 2000+MP's. I have read that dually's don't necessaryily make your computer much faster because of overhead. Quake 3 for instance doesn't run any better on 2 2000+ MP's than it would on one 2000+XP.
Here's my question:
Will the dual processor's really speed up the encoding process in TMPEGenc? If so, how much faster will it be, estimate?
Any and all replies will be much appreciated. :D

It depends on how you encode. If you just encode from a file on the disc and let TMPGenc do everything it should speed it up pretty nice. If you frameserv the increase in speed won't be that big since most frameserving apps don't support dual cpus (avisynth for example). But I don't really think you can go wrong with dual cpus if you can afford a system like that.
You might want to get a single cpu system now and then go dual when the clawhammer hits the market (AMDs 64 bit cpu with SSE2 support).
