  1. Hi all,

I'm a music producer who has recently ventured into creating mashups, and I'm looking to create music videos for them and share them on YouTube (provided they don't get caught in the copyright filter of d00m). I have a very basic proficiency in Adobe Premiere, but I was wondering if there is any software with an interface that might be more appropriate or conducive for stitching together a whole lot of cuts from two different music videos.

I'm so used to being able to work with music tracks being displayed in full above/below each other and just cutting out the pieces that overlap and I wish it were that easy with videos, but I've never seen it work that way (which is understandable, as video obviously can't overlap like audio can). But if anything comes to mind with an interface that might be appropriate for such a specific purpose, I'd love to try it.

    Thanks!

  2. Adobe Premiere is very good for this. You can multicam, you can create multiple versions, you can subclip, you can stack tracks, you can see head and tail frames at cut points, you can temporarily vary the transparency and dimensions to view multiple video tracks at once, you can "mute" the video of specific clips... It's mostly a matter of creating a sensible workflow and getting comfortable with it.

  3. Great, thanks so much! I will look into those tools and get more familiar with the interface.
