    Hello

I have two files of the same conference: The first file was nicely shot but its audio is crappy, while the second file has good audio but crappy video.

So I'd like to combine the two.

Is there a good tool for Windows you would recommend that make it easy to sync audio and video?

    Thank you.

What format are the videos in now? Are the two files exactly the same length? There are certain tools for certain formats, but you might be able to use AviDemux for this regardless of format.

Open the first file (with the nice video), and click on Audio at the top of the window in AviDemux. Click Select Track, and remove the check mark next to the enabled audio track. Keep the Video and Audio outputs on Copy and select the output format that matches your original video format. In other words, select AVI if your files are avi, select MP4 if they are now in mp4 format, etc.

Make certain to name this file with the correct extension. So this might be video only.avi, or video only.mp4. Then click File-->Save.

To get the audio from the second, you import it into AviDemux, click on Audio and then Save Audio. Since you're going to have to name it also with the correct extension, it would help to know the format of the current audio. You can find this out by examining the second file with MediaInfo.

Once you have the demuxed audio saved, you can combine it with the video only file, also using AviDemux. Import the video only file, click on Audio-->Select Track. Put a check mark in the first line, then click on the area in the line that says Track 0 and navigate to the place on the hard drive where you have saved the good audio file. Save this, using the Copy settings as before, and you'll have the two combined together.

This only works if the files are exactly the same length in time. Otherwise, you'll have to do some adjustments, which can be done in AviDemux also.

If you can open these two files MediaInfo and post the information from View->Text for each versions of the conference, you will get better suggestions for tools you can use. As it is we would have to guess.
