I've been ripping a few dvd's & converting them to svcd. I have used the standard templates, i.e CBR with highest quality motion search and 10 bit. What other settings can I use to improve picture quality? I've tried using VBR after using a bitrate calculator, but the file size is too unpredictable. I see a lot of filter settings that can be adjusted, but this would take many conversions and a huge amount of time to come to any decission on what is the best. Obviously I want to keep compatibility with my dvd player. Can the picture be improved or is svcd sort of maxed out?
any info will be appreciated.
thanks in advance
