  1. apologies for being new to converting, but I have converted successfully in the past and have searched for an answer in the Forums and help sections, but to no avail. Basically I have converted a copy of 'A Beautiful Mind' (AVI) to SVCD using Tmpge. Picture quality is real crisp after conversion, but sound is zero, zilch, nothing...... Have tried playing in Media Player and WinDVD with the result of pic but no sound. ANY ideas or help would be welcomed very muchly! :D

  2. there are a couple of ways you can try to fix it. One way is to open the original avi in virtual dub--set the audio to Full Processing mode, then go to "file" and choose "save wav." Then with the resulting wav file, you can use something like db poweramp to convert it to mp2 (with the appropriate codec--their link is in the tools section here at VCD Help). Then remultiplex it with TMPGenc. The audio should be fine after that (God willing). Sometimes TMPGenc doesn't do so well encoding the audio/video from the same source.
