  3. Make sure that you have one of the newest versions/updates to Nero as the older versions had problems handling CUE/BIN images.

    Alternatives to Nero (better):

My suggestion would be to first extract the bin/cue to your harddrive (if space allows) with vcdgear (which can be found on the left at tools). I burned directly from bin/cue with fireburner, and it corruped my vcds. They were unreadable. They .dat file was corruped somehow. At least if you extract it first you can see the mpg and check the quality before you waste cdrs recording what can possibly be crap. Then if the quality is what you want, burn it with nero or whichever program you use. I've used b's recorder gold, which came with my sony cdrw, and used the video cd option without a problem since.

    Hope this helps!

  5. The whole point of a CUE/BIN image is that it is ready to burn. If you extract things out of it, not only are you likely to stuff something up, you will also loose any menus, chapters, etc., that are already on the VCD.

Extracting a file out of a CUE/BIN image (IMHO) should be your last option and indeed, shouldn't be necessary at all.

You should be able to burn a CUE/BIN image directly with a whole host of programs. CDRWin and CDRDAO do it perfectly. The newest versions of Nero is pretty good. Fireburner doesn't fully support CUE/BIN images. The older versions of Nero have a serious bug.

If you get an error on loading a CUE file, the most likely problem is that the CUE file doesn't link/reference to the BIN file correctly. All that is required is to edit the first line of the CUE file with a text editor (e.g. Notepad) to the appropriate directory -- it should be obvious).

If you get a blank disc/coaster with CDRWin after an apparently good burn, it is most likely because you used a pirate serial number or crack. CDRWin is very devious in this way.

If you want to check out the quality/features of a VCD in CUE/BIN format BEFORE you burnt it, I highly recommend that you use Daemon Tools: http://www.daemon-tools.com With this excellent tool, you can mount CUE/BIN images as virtual CDs under Windows.

  7. Same as above.

VCDs can contain a LOT more than just the main movie and if you extract things out of it, you are missing all the extra goodies.

S/VCDs are shipped in the CUE/BIN format so that they can be directly burnt.

  8. CUE/BIN files are CDRWin image files. All you have to do is load them in CDRWin and hit record.

  9. unless you bought it, do not use cdrwin

  10. Well, at least don't be surprised if you burn coasters if you use a pirate serial number or crack...

CDRDAO is a damn fine alternative and has almost exactly the same functionality as CDRWin if you use it with the freeware GUI XDuplicator...

  12. Nero can burn bin/cue files directly under the File/Burn Image menu.

But make sure you burn under Disk at Once and not Track at Once (default)

If you burn under Track at once, you will probably get a garbled SVCD or VCD as a result.

    Cheers

  13. MUWAHHHAHAHAHAHA
cdrwin with an crack or illegal key will produce garbage results !!!!!????
ROFL LMAO - woa some people have lots to learn
everyone needs to recheck their sources
if you didn't buy CDRwin then use it in demo mode at 1x recording speed
probably be the safest way to ensure quality recordings everytime
