When I opened to videohelp.com from a bookmark, the page was redirected to browserdown . com/ ?cch=cq&dc=22
The page says to update Java even though Java is not installed. I am using Firefox 33.0.2. Hopefully, this was just a one time thing and no one else is getting redirected.

Check so you have no new browser extension/addons with adware crap.
-
See http://forums.anvisoft.com/viewtopic-45-14291-0.html (do not install the programs they recommend...even more adware....)
It's usually some hidden adware crap that are bundled with software and it adjust links or installs extensions/addons to all browsers. -
It must be my highly inferior and ineffective Avast Free Home and MalwareBytes.
Sorry....couldn't resist. -
Other websites have reported the same redirects, too, as seen from google search (flightrising.com, georgiapacking.org). There is no adware/malware on my computer, as far as I know. I usually have Flash disabled, so it isn't a Flash thing.
I remember a few years back when people were reporting banner ads redirecting to a fake virus scan page and then offered to install XP Antivirus. -
You are trying to get on that list more than once eh.....
Yeah I've never seen that and all I use is Avast Internet Security.
I use MAMP very rarely on others PC's if they need a good cleaning and once in a blue moon just to check mine.
Added Ad Block Plus to firefox a couple of months ago because some sites were getting ridiculous with their banner/page ads.
And I do some seriously nefarious stuff with software and online -
I always have scripting disabled in FireFox and Chrome. I only enable it when I need to have it (very rare). it cuts down on a lot of this kind of crap.
Running Linux is also a big plus, no need for stupid antivirus / addware blocking tools ect, ect....Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
Please report what page you are on and what banner you see when this happens.
I'm using adsense and chitika for banners and I really hope they don't allow redirect banners. I have always tried to avoid annoying ads(popup, popunders, etc) but it's getting harder and harder to control. -
No redirects for me ever going to videohelp.com.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Pull! Bang! Darn!
-
No redirects here... must be my lousy Malwarebytes, but I'm not a certified genius or certifiable for that matter.

Seriously, I've used SpywareBlaster faithfully for years now, as I sometimes have to use IE. Sorry for the digression, since after re-reading the first post, I see the OP specified he uses Firefox, which doesn't use ActiveX controls, nor does it have a restricted zone.
Like Noahtuck, I installed AdBlockPlus several months ago for the damn banner ads. I wonder, those who have seen this ad, do you have AdBlockPlus installed?Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Screenshot with FireFox v33. No redirects, no banners, no viruses, no scripts, no slow-downs, no shit...........
Gotta love Linux.......Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
