I tried to move an HD video that's a little over 5gb in size over to the microSD card on my new tablet, using my computer as a go between.
The computer keeps telling me the file is too big to fit the destination.
There was nothing on the 32gb card. It was brand new.
I even tried moving the file to the computer first, then to the card. Nope.
I took the card out of the tablet and used it in a USB adapter, and tried again. Once more, the computer insisted the 5gb file was too large to fit on the 32gb card.
Has anyone seen anything like this? If so, what could be causing it?

FAT32 limitation is 4 GB.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -

Yes. Format it using your computer.
Of course, you should make sure whether or not your tablet (or any other devices you may be using the SD card with) support reading SD cards in any format (filesystem) other than FAT32. If not, then you should NOT be reformatting the card.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
No, I would recommend that it is much preferable when one formats on the device that is going to be using/recording on the card. So, in this case, the tablet.
@gastrof - WHAT? I have yet to hear of a tablet that accepted external SD cards that also DIDN'T provide a "format card" function. What brand/model/OSversion# is your tablet? On my Android phone, I go into [System Settings | Storage | External SD card | Format card]. Yours should be something like that.
And if you don't have that, either your tablet won't work with that card, or the card is corrupt, or your tablet is corrupt, or you have a bad/junk tablet, or you aren't following instructions correctly.
And I'm assuming you don't have an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc), as those don't accept external card storage in the first place.
...my guess is that, with 32GB or less size, you won't have any choice BUT to use FAT32, in which case, you cannot get that file onto the card as it is. You will have to either recompress the file to a smaller bitrate (and hence, smaller filesize - <4GB) or split the file into 2 sections.
