    I Europe, they have just started transmitting Mpeg-4 via satellite, and you can get a mpeg-4 satellite receiver. I would guess a mpeg-4 player would not be that far behind (though not consumer level).

    it shouldn't be long, all they have to do is start making and including hardware decoding into hardware, like mpeg decoders on video cards or mp3 decoders on soundcards.

    Now that DivX5 is out, I would say within the next 2 years it will be showing up on new video cards and other hardware will follow suit.
