Capturing with a JVC SR-10U

With my SR-10U, I normally capture with all the default settings. TBC on of course.

Sometimes when i capture, a "Video Calibration" alert flashes on the screen, making the capture worthless. I've looked through the manual but didn't have any luck, so i'm wondering if you can turn off the text alert without turning off the Video Calibration.

Also, I was wondering if there were any settings i should pay attention to with this device. I only recently started venturing out of the default settings, so i'm sure i have some more research to do.

On my JVC (different model) If you hold down both channel buttons.... while tape is playing....
it toggles between the "calibrate tracking" & " manual tracking" functions.
....there is no screen pop-up when in manual mode.
