Hello,
I'm traying to play video (or anything) on my TV.
I have ATI technologies video card with S-Video (TV-OUT) connector.
And I have JVC TV which I connected with computer via S-Video cable.
It doesn't show anything.. :-(
It's my first time trying to transfer video to TV and I thought it's just as easy as connecting DVD to TV.
Tell me what is the trick?
I could not find any special settings for S-Video output. (I'm using Windows 2000)
Appreciate any feedback.
Eugene

Just found that my TV actually shows exactly what I have on screen but only during restart process. When Windows is loaded - it doesn't work.

you need to activate your tv out.
goto control panel then to display, then settings, click on advance. then clicl 0n the tab for ati displays.May the force be with you. -
See if this helps:
http://www.ati.com/support/issuetype/tvout.htmlAs Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
hey luzgin!
you got it work yet?
i had the same problem and dont know how to fix it.
The "goto control panel then to display, then settings, click on advance. then clicl 0n the tab for ati displays" steps, the TV tab is greyed out. It wouldnt let me enable it.
can you? -
pero, the reason its greyed out is because the card doesn't "detect" the video out. Im not sure if there's a button that is depressed when you plug in the rca cable or if there's actual circuitry that detects it. What I have found best is to shut down the pc. plug in the tv or vcr (with it on), then turn on the pc. Hopefully that will do the trick.

The only time that an ATI card will deliver TV output is when there is a TV or video connected to the video out connector at boot-up. If this isn't the case then TV Out is disabled.
What I would like is to get the video out signal to be at least the same size as the TV picture. I always end up with "letterbox" images and the picture slightly distorted! That's why I never use the TV Out on my PC anymore! -
it still wouldnt work.
i hooked up the cable from my comp ATI VHS output (i converted from svhs to vhs format) to TV input and turned off my comp and boot it up the TV screen doesnt show ANYTHING at all.
and the display setting the TV tab is still greyed out. -
I'm not sure if this have something to do whith MACROVISION

luzgin,
Right click desktop>properties>settings>advanced>displays>clic k ON red button on TV>apply. Monitor should default to 800 x 600, 60 Hz.
Your feed to your TV should now work. Also if your feeding backout to video tape you have enable the TV.

I had a similar problem using the component video out. Turns out i plugged the cable into the digital out instead of the (yellow) video out. Color coding to the rescue.
