Storing video on BD-R using laptop that doesn't have blu ray drive

So I want to store some HD video that is currently on my laptop on a BD-R. However my laptop does not have a blu ray drive. Would it still be possible for me to transfer the HD video from my laptop to the BD-R?

Buy an external USB Blu-ray burner. Or if your desktop has a burner, copy the video from the laptop to desktop via network, external hard drive, or large flash drive.
