    Hello folks,

I want to convert anime to my PS Vita system, but I needed (of course) an encoder for that. I find that Handbrake outputs really large files, and Staxrip takes too long. You're probably going to say MeGUI isn't that much better, but I'd like to try some stuff, since it's quite advanced. But when I start it up, and it asks me to update, which I prompt to do, then it crashes and closes itself. I've tried reinstalling MeGUI and Avisynth, to no avail. I also tried to use older MeGUI versions, which seemed to work fine at first, but then when I pressed AutoEncode, it crashed.

How do I fix this? Help is greatly appreciated.

    Any crash error message?

And you can lower the output file size in handbrake by increasing the Constant Quality value under the Video tab. Or use VidCoder and you can set the Target file size directly under Settings and Video.

Nope, it just closes without a trace.

EDIT: Nevermind, it does work now! I had NeroAAC set to the wrong directory, but it works now

EDIT 2: It stopped working again, sorry to be a bother but now it really doesn't work anymore. Log file:

Preliminary log file only. During closing of MeGUI the well formed log file will be written.

  5. All encoders you mentioned use same x264 encoder and have the same basic settings, if you set them the same way you get same results, so no reason to switch to MeGui, just change settings that gives you different result, look at the manuals how settings work. You got different results simply because you used different settings.

About that time of encoding, it should go up to 100% CPU while encoding, so you should compare only CPU while encoding , not time. If times is different while having same CPU values, then it means you used different settings. Assuming you use always the same avisynth script. Because different filters can give different CPU. So you cannot compare speed of encoding in that case as well.
