  1. I have some MKV videos with embedded PGS subtitles. I have been playing those for quite some time with my trusty old MPC-HC version 1.6.8 and Haali Media Splitter 1.13.138.14 (I didn't use MPC-HC's internal Matroska splitter). Displaying embedded PGS subs worked well with this old MPC-HC. If the video was full-screen, the subs were below the image, on the lower black bar. But if I windowed the video and resized the MPC-HC window so that only the image was visible and black bars hidden, then the subs were pushed (squeezed/stretched) into the visible image on-the-fly as I was resizing the window. So no matter how I resized the MPC-HC window, the subtitles were always visible.

Today I wanted to upgrade to MPC-HC 1.7.6 and I was testing it before I replaced the old one, and I noticed that it doesn't work with PGS as well as the old version did. In full-screen mode the first subtitle line in on the image and the second subtitle line is below the image, on the lower black bar. Now if I exit full-screen and resize the MPC-HC window so that the black bars are no longer visible, the second (lower) subtitle line will not be visible either, because the subtitles are no longer dynamically pushed into the visible area of the video as I resize the MPC-HC window.

I tried MPC-HC 1.7.1 and that one did still work like the old 1.6.8. So it appears that this subtitle repositioning feature got lost/broken somewhere between version 1.7.1 and 1.7.6.

Can anyone confirm this or knows of a way to fix it ?

I'm still using MPC-HC Lite version 1.6.8.7391, together with LAV Splitter...

If the "updates" are broken, then just do not update, problem solved =^.^=

Otherwise, you always can file a bug report on their bug tracker, and hope/root/pray that it will be fixed "someday".
