I've found that a couple of my BR's have gone bad (yes, really). So I really want to make back-up copies. I've tried a couple of different pieces of software but they just aren't doing the job reliably.

    I've tried:

DVDFab (which dropped the ability to crack AACS)
    PavTube ByteCopy
    Iamelfin Blu-Ray Copy

The first two used to work and don't anymore. Iamelfin works half the time.

Anyone have suggestions for something reliable?

AnyDVD HD and a PC emulator program? Doesn't seem to be a lot of choices out there for Macs and BDs. Of course there's not a lot of usable BD decrypters out there for PCs either.

Makemkv? I think it can copy also instead of just making mkv.

Another vote for makemkv. It'll remove copy protection and put all the titles/audio/subs in an MKV package without compression. If you burn the MKV file onto a data BD, it will play in just about any BD player and behave just like the original with regards to navigation, subs, audio tracks.

Thing is, though, the OP's computer details say he's using OS X 10.5, which means he might not be using an Intel Mac. I don't remember whether or not MakeMKV has a PPC Mac version available, offhand.

Edit: Well, the MakeMKV site has this as a minimum requirement, anyway:
Requires x86 Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
