I'm totally new to video. We have a Sony camcorder, HDR-PD230. Now I want to upload from the SD card to my computer.
What is best Sony Play Memorie Home or Windows Movie Maker or something else?
And what is the best file format to convert to, MP4?
It is not our intention to post video's on Youtube or something like that. It's just for watching at home on TV or PC.

Sorry, these are beginners questions, but I can't find a decent advice on the internet.

I guess you want to edit it? What kind of editing do you have in mind?

    Or just convert it?

    Baldrick,

Yes, I want to be able to edit it a bit. Just the "normal" post processing as with photos, exposure, delete parts that are not good, put other parts together etc. Maybe some text/titles.
