Hi all. I converted an mkv file to avi using iSkysoft iMedia converter (2.0.5) for Mac (macbook pro w/ 10.6.8). This converter always converts to the correct avi for my Toshiba tv/dvd player. I recently converted an mkv file to avi but found that the frame rate also converted, from 24 to 30. This makes subtitling difficult, as available srt sub files are all 24fps. Any suggestions? I could always watch the film on the computer VLC of course, but prefer the tv. I'm now experimenting with a fps change on MPEG Streamclip avi-to-avi. Don't know result yet. Thank you!

It's a little difficult to answer as you didn't provide enough information. I'll assume you made some sort of XviD or DivX AVI. I'll also assume this program you're using speeded it up to 30fps, and didn't just add in duplicate frames to make it 30fps. If so, you can easily slow the framerate back to 24fps in VDub. The use of Virtual Dub will require the use of a Windows machine. Mac-specific questions should be placed in the Mac forum as very few here use them.

Didn't know about the Mac forum. Your assumptions are correct, and I'll now have more info to give them when I visit. Thanks!
