Hey all, posted this question yesterday, but it was a 2 part question and I didn't get any replies so I'll just ask it as a 1 part question:
How can I tell what Aspect Ratio an avi file is that I record? I record mainly with MMC 7.6, and sometimes with VirtualDub. I record AVI at 720x480 29.97fps.... but I don't see anything anywhere that lists the AR. In tmpgenc, to convert to MPEG2, it wants to know if your avi source file is 1:1, 4:3, etc etc. What does this mean exactly, and how can I determine what it is?
Thanks in advance for any answers!!!
Jeff

The safest bet is to leave it as is. when you load a new movie it changes itself to the correct setting. You might want to tell it to keep aspect ratio(full screen), if you don't want it to strech. To explain what is aspect ratio tho is 1:1 is a square 4:3rectangular (like your tv or screen), 16:9 letterbox such as a dvd.
