I'm creating some slideshows in ulead video studio 6.0 and will convert them to SVCD format using TMPGEnc. I'm going to distribute them to a number of people and was wondering what is most important in the encoding process so the greatest number of home DVD players can see the slide show?
Thanks

first would be make VCD rather than SVCD, almost all DVD players accept VCD, which I believe has provision for still images at higher than 352x240, although limited to 99 total images.
Other than that, for most compliant SVCD just stick to the specs. There is no such thing as a more-(or less-) compliant SVCD. It either is or it isn't.
Or try an XVCD, something like mpeg1, 352x480, bitrate around 1500 - for slideshow I don't think it matters (bitrate that is). Many players which won't play SVCD will handle a slightly modified VCD
