How to fix shaky video in APE 12 or other software ?

I'm learning to use steadicam in video shooting, have progress everyday but the images are like taking video on a rocking boat. I applied the stabilizer feature in APE 12 but it didn't work better or even worse. Before I get to the point to boss the steadicam, do I have an option to fix the rocking boat footage by other video editing software ?
It's so frustrated that after practicing steadicam a week, the video is still rocking left-right.....

You can try to improve it with stabilizing software. e.g deshaker in vdub, prodad mercalli, after effects warp stabilizer etc... many others
