I'm shooting in a storage facility and having trubble coming up with an excuse that sounds kosher when asked by the mismanagement. I was lucky enough to get power hooked up in my unit but only after going to the office 6 times on my first day.
Then, they started to notice green screens, props, fluorescent lights, etc. Now they're really curious and no doubt would trip and fall over all my equipment should they visit my unit.
I need a good excuse to keep these goofs at bay.
Perhaps I should tell them I'm storing a bunch of theater items.
I guess half a truth is better than nothing...

Why not tell them the truth?
Are you, or are you not, ALLOWED to shoot in your storage facility?
Clandestine/Guerrilla/Naughty moviemaking always includes greater dosages of risk.

I tried the truth and it just make them more curious...
Nothing naughty rather slapsticky.
Ever have a landlord that just won't go away? -
Is there a possibility that it may be a security issue? If it were me, I would ask them what is and what is not allowed in the facility, along the lines of what Cornucopia said. You could also ask them to come and see exactly what you are doing. Maybe that would address their curiosity and concern.

After 3000 posts you can't put in a clear title as to your problem?Sounds like the people around your area are the 3 stooges.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
zoobie, I changed your title to more closely match your subject. Which is really more of an Off Topic than Camcorder one. Moving you to OT.

I just read when they come up and ask, tell them you're making a mayonnaise commercial...
