Just discovered that I cannot view and edit etc HD TS files on a PC in the same way that I can with SD TS files. Amazed that not even trusty VLC player can cope with them!

Can anyone please recommend any free software to get round this problem please? I've tried several programmes mentioned on this website which I thought would do it but they they didn't work for HD files.

    Thanks.

  2. What do you mean by "can't cope" ?

Do you mean VLC can't open/play them at all ? or is playback just choppy ?

If it can't open at all, then perhaps they are encrypted. Where did you get the transport stream? (e.g. some cable/sat boxes are commonly encrypted)

Post the details from one of your hd ts files. Use mediainfoxp.

What editors have you tried? Videoredo, solveigmm video splitter?

But as vlc can't play them I guess it might be something else that causing problems...like encryption as poisondeathray mentions.

They are UK Freeview HD TV files and, since my original post, I now gather they are encrypted - as you thought.

Are there any ways round this or is that the end of the story?
