Equipment:
Panasonic NV-HS950 S-VHS
I use the S-video output which clearly gives better resolution and colours.
My problem is no matter what tape i play in the bottom of frame i get lots of noise. I have cleaned the VCR but still noisy and fuzziness in the bottom of the frame occurs. I have also tried to switch off the internal TBC and tried with built i 3dnr but same thing. The stills from movie shows that only the bottom of the frame has alot of noise. I have also tried to play with the manuel tracking but that still doesn't solve the issue.
Any solution?
thanks

More details please. What did you clean and how?
Have you tried playing the tape in another VCR? Sometimes a tape just doesn't play very well in one VCR whereas it plays fine in another, even if both VCRs are in perfect working order and cleaned. Basically you need more than one VCR to play back different tapes. This is normal.Last edited by Skiller; 7th Sep 2014 at 05:04.

I cleaned the usual and most important parts of the vcr. Erase head, video head(drum), Audio head, the capstan and the pinch roller. I used some alcohol and some cotton swabs. I have tried playing this tape in another vcr and the problem doesn't occur. But the issue still remains with this Panasonic vcr. Every tape no matter if they are commercial og recorded all have the samme problem with the fuzzy noise in the bottom of the frame. For the video head(drum) itself i used some regular copy paper.

That noise looks like an alignment error - its the same effect on screen as tracking but its caused by the tape head trace not following the helical scan correctly. This is either because something is worn or someone has twiddled the guide post. Guide posts can work away from their preset position after a tape stall and jam too.
Great machine though - well worth fixing.
EDIT: Skiller is spot on too - and that's why I have more than 10 VCR's! -
FWIW, I used to have a similar issue when capturing video with a ATi All In Wonder video card in my PC; it didn't matter if it was a 'live' stream from the TV or from a video tape. This was years ago and I never did correct the frustrating problem.

I use cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol for cleaning everything in my VCRs except the video head. Been doing it this way for decades.
Used cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol for cleaning everything inside my audio cassette machines too....for decades.
What's the problem? Please tell me the error of my ways.

I also use cotton swabs soaked in 99% Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning everything except of course the head drum and the video heads sticking out of it. For that I use clean uncoated office copy paper cut in handy pieces soaked in Isopropyl. I gently press the soaked piece of paper against the head drum and carefully turn the drum with the other hand.
