I want something that will show me the resolution, bitrate, audio information, etc, of a source file. I'm having a suprisingly tough time finding out how to do something that should be basic.

If your source file is mpeg1 or 2 - use mpegproperties

Know of anything handy to view the properties of AVIs? -
If you're running Windows, right click the avi in explorer and choose properties.
