  1. Hi people,

I'm new to this converting, editing etc of movies...and I was wondering if anyone can tell me a simple method in changing a SVCD to VCD. For some reason, my DVD,VCD player doesn't play SVCD's and so I'm wanting to convert it to VCD.

    Thanks.

  2. Basicly your "easy" method is to re-encode the file into VCD, which will of course reduce the quality of the movie

If you can't open the MPEG2 file in TMPGEnc, you can use DVD2AVI to frame serv it just as if it was a DVD.

  3. Better choice is to open TMPGEnc and select "File-Mpeg Tools" then select "MPEG1 - Video CD". Now browse to find your video file.

Make sure the selection still says "MPEG1-VideoCD" (Sometimes it changes) if it's not change it back.

Type in the name of you output file (Name it something different)....

    Hit OK..

    Ignore any errors.

When it's done you should have a VCD that's compatible with most DVD players and still keep your SVCD quality
