  1. Hello!

I've downloaded a movie in mpg format, but the resolution is 384x288.
I try to burn, but my DVDPlayer don't play it.

How can I change the resolution to 352x288? I don't want to re-encode the movie (I have 4 mpgs with the same problem). Any solution, please?!

    Thanks.
    Toni.

There is no way to change the resolution without reencoding. You may try DVDPatcher or ReStream to change the header information to fool the dvd player. But I do not believe that this will work.

What about going to the mpeg tools in tmpgenc. If you go to the cut/paste section and put the file in and change the setting to vcd and make a new file, that should do the trick, or if you burn it with Nero, that will make it conform, as far as I know.

  7. Hello again.

The solution of Shannafey did not work... my DVD Philips 751 crash when i introduce the CD. DVD reads the CD, detect the CD as VCD, but apears a lines on the TV and its impossible to go FF o RW o PLAY or anything.

I recorded it with nero5578 as a VCD no standard (because the resolution 384x288).

If anybody knows the solution to resize a MPEG1 without reencoding, please i'll apreciate it.

    Thaks to all, I'll investigate!

  8. I don't know if this will work or if it applies to the situation, but try using TMPGenc MPEG tools to single multiplex the file into a MPEG-1 VCD (compliant or not). I usually rip DVDs with DVD2SVCD and I have to do this to the output files, or else I'll get the same kind of crashes you do on my dvd. Hope it helps
