Hi all,
OS - Ubuntu 12.04 desktop
I'm a beginner in video editing. I'm prepared adding text on the video of .mpg format taken with Sony Digital Camera. I have no problem to convert them to other formats such as mp4 wkd etc.
gnome-subtitle is available for install. I'm now looking for its tutorial and found;
Video subtitling for the GNOME desktopVideo subtitling for the GNOME desktop
http://gnome-subtitles.sourceforge.net/gnome-subtitles-release-1.2
GNOME Subtitles
http://en.flossmanuals.net/video-subtitling/ch022_gnome-subtitles/
Which of them will be suitable for me to follow. Is there any other suggestion? Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your advice.
I already found several of them such as;
How to use mencoder to add subtitle to your video
http://www.linuxandlife.com/2012/11/use-mencoder-add-subtitles-to-videos.html
to fade in and out professional-looking text?
Openshot:

Kdenlive
http://www.kdenlive.org/
Best 3 Video Editors for Linux

etc.
But I need to learn creating subtitle first. Where shall I start?
I'm also interested learning how to add running banner with text scrolling on videa. I have been searching a while and didn't find link in this respect. Could you please shed me some light?
Thanks
