edit a avi uncompress file

Hello!
I capture a uncompress avi file.
I want to edit (Delete from several sections) and then convert to a XviD file.

Is there a way to do this without virtualdub?

Thousands of ways. Virtualdub just happens to be one of the simplest.

What is it about virtualdub that is not working for you?

Are there other ways to get high quality results? Or any software will the same quality?
