    I have many photos that I want to merge into a video. Is there such a software? Free version is best.

    What kind of "merge"? What kind of video ?

    You can try DVD Slideshow GUI, which can export to DVD, blu-ray and other video formats, includes multiple transitions & effects

    Without knowning you OS another option could be Windows Movie Maker

    Windows movie maker is also easy to use and offers some nice transition effects, but choose the highest resolution when saving the file.
