  1. a. yes
but if i'm not giving MediaCoder the same sup file again it will not hardcode any subtitles
    strange
but when i give it the mkv (containig the sup file) and give it the sup file in the subtitles tab
    it will hardcode

    b. what we did here than is give SE to convert the subs to images (sup) & the other apps pasted it right?

  3. i managed to do it with my SD avi's (i muxed them into mkv's etc...)
now i'll try the other HD (mkv) films

but why the subitles are at the middle of the frame? (they are centered but also in the middle right on the actors faces)
in SE i used the avi's resolution...

  4. Before you export your subtitles in SE mark them, right-click and select alignment. (Where on the frame)
The Align in the above select how each line is justified, ie right, left or centered.

  5. it didn't work.
& i was happy too soon - i hardcoded a segment from the video (as you remember, i wanted to cut segments with hardcoded subs), & not only that the subs are at the middle - the audio is not in synch...

  7. If sync is the issue during cutting, you can do a better job of cutting with avisynth using trim() , or even in vdub. You can hardsub using vsfilter if the subs are done correctly

To display correctly, this discussion says to flip the puncutation and save as ANSI
