Hi
When encoding to mpeg in TMPGEnc should I use the same frame size as the original film or just stick to the templates (Sefy/Kwag)?
Original 576x240 template 352x240

Well, i'm quite sure a DVD Player won't accept that resolution of your original, you might like to consider doing an SVCD, as the resolution is high, and since it's a Wide Screen, you shouldn't lose too much quality in encoding.

Thanks Sefy,
I use ur templates for all my stuff and everthings looks good
but only in MPEG1 vcd, when I use svcd I get a green line at the bottom of the screen any Ideas?
This has happened on both the older templates with the readme files in and the newer ones with out the readme's. Can you also tell me the main diff on the newer ones?

Oh, a greenline at the bottom ? oh that reminds me of the good old days, do you happen to have a Ligos Codec installed in the system ? that's the No 1 cause for that when playing back MPEG2 files!

:-0 no never headrd of it dont think I do?

Yup, i know, but trust me, find if you got any MPEG2 codec by ligos, you might have several codecs installed that handle MPEG2 and that ruins the decoding.

Hi Did a search for the ligos but nothing found how can I tell what codec I have inst, is there a proggy or simple location for this?
Thanks -
check your device manager under video and game controllers. you should see a section called video codecs. I also believe the site is www.ligos.com

If you don't find Ligos, it might be called LSX, that's their suite, usually the Ligos codec comes with various programs, mostly capture programs.
