    How do I add small borders on my movies, I cant see a way to do it in TMPGEnc.

    Indeed you can!
    Choose Setting for your template, under the tab Advanced you choose the option Clip frame. With the Clip frame toggle-down and the option box for Top mask/Bottom mask set the size of the top and bottom border using the corresponding 'spinners'...
