So Im trying to join two AVIs with VirtualDub and first I have to make sure the audio streams are the same sampling rate. Now I took the first one, set compression to MP3 192kb/s and conversion to 48000, saved it and did the same with the other one.
Shouldn't this mean that they now have the same sampling rate and I can therefore join them? Thats what I thought but it still gives me an error message saying the audio streams have different sampling rates.
What am I missing?

try Avi-Mux Gui instead of Virtual Dub and if that doesn't help post the MediaInfo analysis for both files
