i-author and segments... HELP!!!

Why oh why?
When i author svcd tracks with i-author and play with my lenco dvd-01 there is no problem. Works great. But when select segment in stead of Mpeg track, my lenco displays black during playback of those segments.
Kind of strange though, because i can display menu backgrounds and those are also segments. When i use my own mps files for moving menu background or just segment for play items, things get screwed up.

Does anyone know why? And more importand, how do i fix it?
Is this a known i-author bug? Or has it someting to do with the way i burn the cif? I use track at once and close cd..
