  1. I had video capture working for a while, but now can't get it to work with any program. I have a 1.4GHz Athlon system, 1GB memory, tons of hard drive space in RAID0, ASUS v7700 Deluxe vid card, running Win2K. I'm capturing from VHS through my vid card, using the standard nVidia drivers, including the nVidia WDM 1.11 driver.

Now every time I open any video capture program (VirtualDub, AVI_IO, iuVCR, etc) I get the same error message, which tells me that I cannot use the WDM device while another app is using it. The thing is, no other app is using the driver. All other apps are closed, and I've rebooted the system a bunch of times. At first I suspected it was iuVCR causing the problem because I'm having a bunch of other problems with that app. So, I removed iuVCR and all references to it in the registry, then rebooted, but no luck. I was originally using the Technogarb nVidia drivers, but replaced them with the standard drivers for troubleshooting. Didn't make a difference.

The other problem....when I did have it all working, my video appeared as black & white in any of these apps. When I first had it working I was getting color, then black & white, and now these WDM errors.

    Help!

  2. Damn, thought i get the answer here in your thread, but no replies so far

I don't have the WDM Problem (Using WDM 1.08 ), but the black & white problem alot

I'm running Win2k, an ASUS V6800 Deluxe, i'm trying to capture in PAL, have changed the NVCAP.INF to PAL already, but still i only get black & white from my VCR...
My VCR is connected through a SCART->S-VHS+Stereo Adapter.
I have set the Jumper on my ASUS Card to PAL, and I'm trying to use ASUS Digital VCR, all settings are set to PAL.

And what's about the VfW drivers, can anyone tell me where to get them? And maybe how to uninstall them...

Really nobody there to help? *sigh*

Sorry, cant help with your problems but i've noticed that you've used IUCVR to capture. Just started using this software as I have upgraded to XP, and I love it. I can now capture at 704x576 huffy or uncompessed without dropping 1 single frame. Just did an 80 min capture, thats over 45GB with no frame drops.

What I want to ask is did you get the scheduler to work. I set it up but it does'nt start recording.

    Cheers
